Time Restricted Parking Zones
Time restricted parking zones are time limited free parking areas, for example 2 hour parking, 30 minute parking or 15 minute parking. These areas are designated with signage marking the time restriction. The perimeter signs of these areas with be marked with arrows designating the ends of the parking zone. Vehicles parked in these zones longer than the specified time during these hours will receive a violation.
Meter Parking Spaces
Meters are enforced 9:00am-6:00pm excluding Sundays and Holidays. Vehicles parked at an expired meter during enforcement hours will receive a violation. Each meter “on” or “off” street has a time limit that is specified on the meter face. The time limit that is displayed on the face is the maximum time allowed daily at that meter. Any vehicle staying pasted the noted time limit will also receive a violation. The meter will only give the maximum time noted on the meter face regardless of how much money is put into the meter. Also, each meter face will have an arrow specifying the parking stall that it is designated to.
Handicap Patrons
Disabled persons utilizing vehicles displaying the proper handicap hangtag or license plate may use Handicap designated paring areas. These areas are designated by signage and the handicap designated parking meters are blue in color. As per the Americans with Disabilities Act, patrons displaying the proper identification will receive an additional one hour of time on the maximum amount of time specified. On metered spaces, handicap patrons will receive an additional one hour of time after the meter has expired.
Loading Zones
Loading zones are located throughout the central business district and are 15 minute restricted zones for delivery, loading and unloading purposes. “Truck Only” loading zones are for the use of delivery trucks only and are also restricted to a 15 minute time period. Passenger cars will be ticketed if parked in these areas.
Corners/Intersections
All parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection is prohibited. “No Parking here to Corner” signs are also used to designate prohibited parking areas near roadway intersection that do not contain a crosswalk. Vehicles parked in these areas will receive a violation.
Fire Hydrants
Pennsylvania vehicle code prohibits vehicles from being parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. Vehicles parked within this restriction are considered an obstruction and will receive a violation.
Fines
Fines can be paid at the WPA office, payment drop boxes, or online.
